Debbie Martin

Mention a name, she is likely to know the person. Mention a place and she will likely know where it is and how to get you there. Living on Maui for over 35 years, Debbie has extensive knowledge of out-of-the-way places and the island’s history, families and events. She is creative and familiar with the “art scene”. Experience with the family’s restaurant business has given her an eye into the “eating scene”. Besides being a wife and mother of two grown sons, her work has included time in food and beverage, retail, construction, floral, sewing and office management. Debbie’s friendly, open spirit of aloha along with her attention to detail will enable you to have a memorable event at Ka Hale Olinda Wedding, Meeting & Retreat Center.

Donna Jaecker & Sterling Church
Sisters and co-owners of Ka Hale Olinda Wedding, Meeting & Retreat Center, Donna Jaecker and Sterling Church are affectionately referred to as “The Girls.” Born on Molokai, they spent most of their childhoods on Maui, attending Kaunoa Elementary and Baldwin High schools. The pursuit of higher education took them to the eastern U.S. where Donna studied virology and Sterling received her nursing degree.

The Girls come from a long line of farmers and their ties to the land run deep. They cherish their memories of exploring the pastures and gulches, milking cows, raising Christmas trees, planting windbreaks and attending the local rodeos and polo matches.
Donna now lives in California and Sterling in Colorado, but their love of the Islands, especially upcountry Maui, the culture, foods and music of this special place have frequently drawn them back to Olinda. They now enjoy sharing their childhood home with their spouses and children.

Donna and Sterling share a common goal, to retain and preserve the beautiful, restful ambience of the home and property they now call Ka Hale Olinda (“the beautiful house”). Their desire is to keep the land in agriculture and to share this place with local and off-island visitors. Toward this end, in 2006 they opened their home to be used as a warm and intimate up-scale meeting and retreat center.
